I am a landscape architect and urban designer by profession, and a multi-disciplinary creative collaborator by natural inclination.
I trained as both architect and landscape architect, and I now share my craft with the next generation as sessional lecturer in Masters of Landscape Architecture at RMIT and Melbourne Universities.
For a decade I worked as a Senior Landscape Architect on some of Australia’s significant landscape architecture and urban design projects- most notably several years spent managing the design and construction of The Australian Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne.
I am an ardent flower lover and experience maker.
Taking two years out to join the ‘the school of life’, I indulged in that rare opportunity to focus on the things I love most. This included working with some of Melbourne's most sought after florists and event designers, immersing myself entirely in the world of floristry and bespoke events.
I am a gardener and grower, a forager and preserver.
This school of life lead me to a major tree change with my young family, moving from urban Melbourne to rural Spargo Creek, which is located just outside of Daylesford in Victoria’s Central Highlands. Here I have been designing and building a ‘productive’ focussed garden on our 5-acre property lovingly named Oak and Monkey Puzzle after the beautiful specimen trees found on our land. I’ve been learning to live with the seasons - growing, gathering, foraging, flowering, making and preserving.
I am a place maker.
I am passionately intent on creating a hub here at Oak and Monkey Puzzle, as a place for experiencing and sharing passions. Through my experience as a landscape architect and urban designer, and now here as part of a vibrant community of creatives, artisans, craftspeople and country dwellers, I have embarked on establishing this hub, and it is a joyful work in progress.
My hope is that this hub will be a special place to visit, to experience and learn, to share skills - and ultimately engender a community.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a productive garden. From childhood vegetable patches to the abundant landscapes of Oak & Monkey Puzzle, my love for growing has always been deeply intertwined with my passion for design.
In this half-day workshop, I share my approach to creating thriving, seasonal, and productive gardens—whether on a sprawling property or in a compact urban space. Drawing from my background as a landscape architect, I’ll guide you through the principles of productive garden design, offering practical insights into seasonality, soil health, companion planting, and structure.
We’ll explore the evolution of my productive gardens—from the kitchen gardens, orchards, and cut flower beds at Oak & Monkey Puzzle to my latest project at Little Cottage on a Hill, where I’m translating those lessons into a small-scale yet abundant space. You’ll leave with practical tools, inspiration, and confidence to create a garden that is as beautiful as it is productive.
This workshop is for anyone who loves to grow, whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your space. No prior experience is needed—just a passion for plants, seasons, and cultivating something truly rewarding..

For years, I’ve designed gardens that balance beauty, productivity, and sustainability, but when I discovered wicking beds, they transformed the way I grow. These self-watering garden beds have changed everything—from reducing water use to making gardening more accessible, efficient, and abundant.
In this hands-on workshop, I’ll guide you through the practical steps to create your own wicking beds—whether you’re working with a small courtyard, a backyard, or a larger productive space. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of how wicking beds work, how to build them using IBC containers, and how to create a thriving, water-wise garden with minimal effort.
We’ll explore my own wicking bed garden at Little Cottage on a Hill, where I’ve grown everything from celery and purple sprouting broccoli to sugar snap peas and edible flowers—all with less watering and less maintenance. You’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to build a garden that is not only sustainable and resilient but also deeply rewarding to tend.
This workshop is designed for anyone looking to garden smarter—not harder. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned grower, wicking beds are a game-changer in sustainable and productive gardening.
